Goal and Strategies
By 2020, WWF will conserve 15 of the world’s most ecologically important regions by working in partnership with others to:
- Protect and restore species and their habitats
- Strengthen local communities’ ability to conserve the natural resources they depend upon
- Transform markets and policies to reduce the impact of the production and consumption of commodities
- Mobilize hundreds of millions of people to support conservation
WWF and PopghumAs a company dedicated to social responsibility, Popghum’s parent company Virginia Specialty Foods, Inc. directs Popghum to actively seek partnerships with genuine, honest and powerful philanthropic organizations. In 2009, Popghum began working with WWF on a licensing arrangement that would make it the first organic food to bear the iconic panda logo. That deal was signed in 2010, creating a strong partnership that has become a cornerstone of Popghum’s social responsibility campaign.
Popghum takes grain from the Earth to feed people. In turn, it gives back to the Earth by donating approximately 5% from the sale of every bag sold to WWF to help them support sustainability and their core mission.
Popghum’s packaging features the WWF logo, images of endangered species WWF works to protect, and a short narrative describing the plight of the animals.
